Lots of nice songs that came out these past two days. Sorry about yesterday, I forgot to publish after I finished writing it. I reposted every song so it should be fine. Seriously though, too many to actual review a specific one. Please enjoy every one of them, or die.






Not an original song, but still good nonetheless. My first reaction was that it was voiced by a human, proving that gumi is one of the best vocaloids around.


Beautifully remix of a miku song. The guitar might be a little too overwhelming though.




Not my cup of tea, but I see how others might like it, so I'll post it.

Grr.. todays songs were all mediocre at best. Didn't want to review songs that weren't worth reviewing. Maybe I'm being a bit biased, as most of these songs are not enjoyable to me. I hope you guys enjoy it, though.

Song of the Day Nov 24, 2010

Today had lots of good songs. Too bad it takes quite a while to ravage through all of the videos. Totally worth it...

【初音ミク】 栄う千夜と雪の花


The only open criticism I can make of this song is that its full potential is limited by bad sound quality. Turn the volume on blast and the song sets you free. The beginning is godly, using festival stringed instruments with the utmost precision to grasp the listener, bells and (What seems to me) shrine maiden vocals to bring in the meat of the song, and setting it all off with electronic music. The change in atmosphere works perfectly with the instruments. Miku's voice, too, is well used, with her voice and vocals harmonizing superbly with the overall feel of the song.

Today's been another good day for vocaloid songs, with a couple good songs within the 50 some vids that were posted. Sadly, the gap for the song of the day is fairly large.
Regardless, I'll post an extra vid that was one of my favs of the day.
To RaGeDZai: the two songs you posted were unavoidably good (I did watch it when it was posted though), but I felt that the one I reviewed was definitely the best. Regardless, your response definitely helped my lack of recommendations, cuz I'm just that lazy.

They say not to read a book by its cover, thus I check every newly posted song thoroughly. Its uncommon that both the music and the PV are deserving of the song of the day. The introduction is uniform to the rest of the song, providing subtle intensifications during the song's progression. The tune alone is catchy enough to attract attention. The simplistic rhythmic beat also drags the listeners into the most energetic parts of the song. The torrent of different instruments and musical effects brings forth an unyielding affinity with the listener. Three fourths till the end, the song breaks its pattern in order to create a new melody fit for a conclusion, and it does so impeccably. The song gets a last barrage and ends identically to its beginning, with a captivating melody.

Jeez there were around five full pages of new vocaloid videos today. Plenty of pretty good ones. Today's video was almost a tie so I will post the second vid below or something.

This song is tasty isn't it? The soft piano makes a perfect foundation for the song. The background sounds blend all too well: with every step of the song, the music beautifully follows. The various changes throughout the songs produces a dramatic effect which absorbs the audience, immersing them within the flow, atmosphere, and energy of the song. The flow does not just immerse, it intoxicates. The spell lifts well after the song ends. Not only that, the conclusion fits perfectly well with the rest of the song. PS: wear earphones, preferably good ones.

If any of you noticed that I didn't post a review yesterday, it was because I fell asleep on my desk. You can count my previous review as two days since it was between both the thirteenth and the fourteenth.
Alrighty lets skip the excuses and go onto the review!

鏡音リン】ぞっこんかぁにばる【オリジナル】

I was going to do UrStyle, but Rovencrone had to remind me that it was already submitted within a album. Good thing today had lots of delicious songs. Hey look I'm writing before twelve, would you look at that.
The traditional music is quite absorbing isn't it? The song starts off strong, with the the festive instruments blasting to pave the path for the introduction. Each part of the song is separated by the entrance or extraction of instruments. The song itself consists of only repetition, so there is no dramatic change during the climax. It does a great job interweaving modern and traditional instruments, even if they were used very sparsely. Well I'm gonna have to end it short today cuz I gots work tomorrow, c yaz!

A decent song sung by gumi, accompanied by some guitars.
yeah....

Fine, I'll keep going, jeez. The beginning feels a bit too slow, but it becomes more interesting later on. Along with the introduction of underlining instruments, ushers in energy that ripples through the latter parts of the song. This sudden addition improves the song tenfold. As usual, gumi's voice usually fits these type of songs best. The tone seems as if Gumi is yearning for something, doesn't it? The energy reaches its apex as the guitar dims down and the instruments stop, only to return fully charged for one last comeback. The end of the song is then signaled, and satisfaction is achieved.

Good thing theres only one Veteran's day, I couldn't handle another day without writing a review. Today's song is a bit predictable; it's first in the rankings, after all. Feel free to comment and stuff in the comment box or something. Now to the review! (hip hip horah)
【初音ミク】一秒の魔法【オリジナルPVつき】

Wow, the video is so potently cute that my heart moves as I watch. Now I have to rearrange my seat. (Get it? Move? Seat?). Well, brilliant jokes aside, the song, alone, is deserving of the song of the day. It might not be terribly original, but it still sounds great, especially how the violin goes so well with the guitars. The beginning cuts right into the song and only continues to picks up its energy as it progresses. Repetition is often differentiated by instruments and does not seem to dull upon the second time around. The background music is commendable, with the use of unlikely combinations of instruments to produce an even more unlikely atmosphere of romance. The conclusion of the song follows the story rather then its own flow, so it feels a bit disappointing when listening to the awkwardly repeated tune.
Nonetheless, a great song of the day.

【初音ミク】ハローストロボ【オリジナル】


Despite its obvious repetition, the song itself does not feel overly extended, nor does it bore the listener. However, its replayability value is a tad bit low. That does not mean that the song is bad. The pausing, spacing and speed of Miku's vocals are all expertly invested into the formulation of the song's climax. The guitar crucially sustains the audience's attention, the breaks within the music stealthily bridges parts of the song to the next, the background voices underline and establish the expression of the song.

1.【巡音ルカ】FUWA-FUWA【オリジナル、】

A calming, rhythmic song with Luka as its vocalist. The trance-like music beautifully segues the intro into the body of the song. Luka's voice syncs perfectly with both the tune and the atmosphere in the music. The artist also expertly uses instruments to separate different parts of the song. As it progresses, the song becomes bombarded, yet not overwhelmed, by different instruments, blending into a uniform melody that fully compliments Luka's voice.

A New Contributor Approaches!!

Hello, all you Vocaloid Fans!

I'm a new contributor to this blog, known by as HatsuneLOVER, AKA coolest guy in the world. I won't be posting albums like the other contributors, but I will be reviewing new songs published on nicovideo. Well what do we have here?

Pardon if I'm a little late with this news, but I assume many of you have heard of the new vocaloid by Sony, Utatane Piko (歌手音ピコ), which is special for the same reason as Vocaloids Rin and Len due to  their double gender voicebanks from one singer.  So, who's providing the voice for Utatane Piko then? why, none other than the famous niconico singer Piko himself!

While there aren't any voice demos of the new vocaloid yet, here's one of Piko's singles just to give you a taste of what utatane Piko will sound like!
